Effective date: November 1, 2026
This policy explains how Dudproof (“we”, “us”) collects and uses information when you visit dudproof.com (the “Site”). We try to collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, plus any page link you include. We use it only to reply and to fix any errors you report.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request. This is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure and prevent abuse.
- Link clicks. When you click one of our product links (they start with dudproof.com/go/), we count the click so we know which links readers use. These counts aren’t used to identify you.
We don’t currently use advertising trackers or third-party analytics. If we add analytics or a newsletter, we’ll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
How we use information
- to run, secure and improve the Site;
- to answer messages and fix reported errors;
- to understand which content is useful;
- to earn affiliate commissions (see below).
Affiliate links and retailers
When you click an affiliate link and go to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer may set its own cookies to credit us with the referral. What the retailer collects is governed by its own privacy policy (for example, Amazon’s Privacy Notice). We don’t receive your name, payment details or what you personally bought.
Sharing
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site (such as our web host and its content-delivery and security network), when required by law, or to protect our rights and our readers’ safety.
Cookies
The Site itself uses only cookies needed for it to work. Retailers you visit through our links may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If we add analytics or other non-essential cookies, we’ll show a consent banner first.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you’ve sent us through our contact form. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have additional rights under local law; contact us and we’ll respond within the time those laws require.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Data retention and security
We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to respond and keep a record of corrections. We use reputable hosting with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and restrict access to the people who run the Site.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the effective date above.
